It's the perfect place to bring your friends, family and out-of-town visitors for lunch!

Located in the beautiful glass-walled Maunaloa cone of 'Imiloa Astronomy Center, overlooking Hilo bay, the cafe is now open from Tuesday through Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and during special 'Imiloa events.

Chef Neal Donato, Jr., has created a superb menu specializing in sandwiches and salads, made with fresh, locally grown ingredients and served with aloha.

The cafe seats 90 people, and catering is available for business events, weddings, and other private functions.

We offer a “hybrid” service in the Café so that visitors can relax and dine in comfort. You may order your meal and pay at the front counter, then seat yourself to enjoy the landscape views until your food is served by our wait staff to your table.

The Café is available to the public whenever the Center is open. It is closed on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and on days that the Center closes early (Christ and New Year’s Eves).

Special Functions in the Café

Imiloa Café is available for business events, dinner parties, weddings, and other private functions. Use of the space for private parties is limited to Mondays (when the Center is closed) and evening events. It is also available from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. for private events and breakfast meetings.
