Attention Boys & Girls!
Summer 2011 will be more exciting at ‘Imiloa.
Start your summer off with an exciting dose of science and FUN at Camp ‘Imiloa. This year we are offering camps for a total of five weeks.
Week 1: Numbers, Movement, and Games (8:30 am to 12:00 pm, June 6 - June 10)
For grades 3-5: Learn how to play traditional Hawaiian games while brushing up on your math skills. The week will feature lessons from a Capoeira group on rhythm, song and dance, culminating in a special performance on Friday.
Week 2: Camp for Girls (8:30 am to 12:00 pm, June 13 - June 17)
Grades 5-8: Sustainability and technology are hot buzzwords today, and you will have the opportunity to discover what the fuss is all about. This camp is for girls only, so no boys need apply!
Week 3: Camp for Boys (8:30 am to 12:00 pm, June 20 - June 24)
Grades 5-8: Ditto for the boys. (See above)
Week 4: Our Living World (8:30 am to 12:00 pm, June 27 - July 1)
Grades 1-3: Bugs, plants, and cells, oh my! They're fascinating, they're moving, they're definitely alive. Take part in an archeology dig, participate in a creepy crawly scavenger hunt, and watch our new 3D Bugs! A Rainforest Adventure show in the planetarium.
Week 5: Things that Go Zoom! (8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm, July 11 - July 15)
Grades 4-6: For one week only, we are offering a morning session on flight and a different afternoon session on other things that go zoom. Sign up for the morning, afternoon, or both sessions. It's your choice, but choose fast.
